Where to get Inspiration for Your Next Blog Post

January 17, 2010 in Blogging | View Comments

Wondering how to get inspiration to blog almost every day? Are you struggling to blog regularly, because you’re running out of ideas for your next blog post? Today I will list a few of my favorite resources that keep me inspired and give me ideas for writing. What I do is, I visit a number of websites and blogs every day and I read a lot.

5 Ways to Get Blogging Ideas

  • Visit social bookmarking sites
Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Alltop, Delicious. I visit these websites daily and check out topics of my interest. See what’s new and you’re bound to get inspired for your next blog post.
  • Engage with other bloggers
Read other people’s blogs (and don’t forget to comment on them). Blogengage and Blogcatalog are good places to find other bloggers. You will most likely find some inspiration, or maybe you will disagree with someone’s post  and make a blog post about it.
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds and newsletters
Subscribe to all feeds in your niche and you will get inspiration right in your mailbox!
  • Talk with other people
Talk with people every day, both in real life and online. I get many of my topic ideas from questions people pose to me, or through conversations.
  • Join social sites
Twitter and Facebook are great resources of information. Not only you can interact with others there, but you can also use search and see what’s going on up the the minute. I use Twitter search daily. Try it and you’ll be surprised what you can find.

And what keeps you going?

  • Thanks for the comments.
Yes, reading other blogs is inspirational and fun. :)
  • This is a great list. I tend to get inspiration from other blogs I read. If I find something I do not truely do not understand, I tend to research it and then post my results on my blog.

I never really thought about using Digg. I think I will have to do that when I run out of ideas.
  • Okay, this is a good list to consider....it's certainly better than what I've been using....which is my gut.

Good ideas are common - what's uncommon are people who'll work hard enough to bring them about, reading this article was not in vain.
