Choosing the right topic or niche for your blog can be an overwhelming task. The important decision to make here is what to blog about. Depending on your interests, there may be tens of topics you’d want to blog about. At other times you may even run short of an idea.
Make a list of topics you are interested in and can write about on a constant basis. Select one or two niche topics for your blog you feel have the most potential. The first step in the direction is to blog on a subject that you are most comfortable with, something that you have a passion about and you have knowledge about.
If you want to grow a popular blog it can take a lot of time and you’ll need to take a long term approach to build it up. Think about whether you can see yourself still writing on this topic in 12 months time. If the answer is no, then maybe you should choose another topic. If you want to create a popular blog, then you should also consider what others are interested in.
Try to find out what competition is doing. See what others miss out on the subject, then find a gap and fill it. This could make for a nice niche topic.
I suggest you narrow down to a subject which will keep your interest and will also reward you in the long run. Either financially or in the form of creative satisfaction.
